The Port Washington Hiking Challenge is back! You will receive a guide on the first day of the challenge (July 1) that contains over 20 hiking destinations that are within 2.5 hours or less from Port Washington. The guide not only includes 20+ hiking locations, but also includes maps and links for more information on each hiking destination so you can feel prepared before you step out the door for your adventure. You will also be provided with a list of plant and animal species with pictures so you can hunt for them and learn along the way.
We are challenging individuals, pairs, or families to get outdoors and make the most of our Wisconsin trail system, parks, and outdoor recreation areas. Let's improve our mental and physical wellness while enjoying the great outdoors! The more hikes you complete and discovery items you find means more entries you will receive which means a greater chance to win gift cards to Sherper's!

The more entries you receive the more of a chance you will have to win a prize at the end! **Our GRAND PRIZE will be awarded to the participant with the MOST hikes and discovery items. (If there is a tie for the most, we will do a drawing with the names of the tied participants.)** All other entries will go into the drawings for the other prizes.
Accepted entries/Proof of Your Hike or Challenge Finds includes: a picture of park/ trail signage (with you or your family in it), watch/ GPS record, picture at destination with hashtag #pwhikingchallenge2023, other fitness app stats, etc.
To Submit Proof: Email parksandrec@portwashingtonwi.gov or utilize the #pwhikingchallenge2025 hashtag on Instagram before October 31 (Note: if using Instagram your account must be visible)

Note:
PROGRAM/CLASS REFUND POLICY:
Refunds will only be made under the following circumstances: 1) the request is made at least 7 days in advance of the first class, provided it does not reduce the participation level below the minimum required class size, 2) when the participant becomes ill and a doctor’s statement is presented, and 3) when the class is cancelled due to lack of enrollments.
A $5.00 processing fee will be charged for each request, except when the class is cancelled.
